Las Vegas Coupon Books and Magazines
These are the best know coupon books and magazines in Las Vegas. If you know of a source we do not have listed here please e-mail us through our contact us page.
Publications that are not free are marked with an asterisk. That does not mean you should ignore them but look at what is available within their pages and see if it can save you money on what you want to do in Las Vegas.
My attempt at an unbiased review
-
24/7 Magazine: This magazine is free. 24/7 is divided into sections like: Things to do, shopping, show guide, buffet guide, gaming guide. What makes it particulary confusing is that there can be advertisments for anything within each section. It makes the organization sloppy and hard to follow. There are many coupons for 2nd tier shows like American Superstars at the Stratosphere but not for the big name shows like Zumanity. You'll also find coupons for exibits like Titanic or for the many Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam tours.
-
American Casino Guide: The retail price on this book is $16.95. They sell it on their website for $13.95 but shipping is $4.00. You can call your local book store and see if they have it for retail which will save you a buck. ACG has many coupons for offers out side of Las Vegas and for a full list you can click here. Their coupons are mostly for the lower end casinos here in Las Vegas and many are for casinos not on the Strip. If you intend on only being on the Strip (not downtown) than you'll want to skip this book. They do have a number of show coupons but you can find most of those offers in the free magazines listed to the left.
-
The Bite Card: cost $29.95 for a card that is valid for 6 months. They claim to have discounts that no one else has but the majority of the discounts are available for free in the long list of publications on this page. The one advantage that the Bite Card has is that the discounts can be used again and again. This would obvioulsy save you the trouble of picking up multiple copies of the free magazines. You can of course slip the Bite Card in your wallet and it's easy to carry around. Seems a bit pricey for the convenience.
-
Casino Perks: Their deluxe book sells for $49.95 on their website. For a full list of what that includes click here. Don't be fooled by the long list if your staying anywhere in the middle of the Strip and do not have a car than the only coupons for dining that you'll use are the Bally's, Imperial Palace, Hawaiian Market Place, and Mandalay Bay coupons. The Mandalay Bay coupon for House of Blues is available for free in most of the free publications listed to the left. The shows, attractions, tours, and gaming coupons are all available for free elsewhere in free publications. This book is great if you don't feel like looking in any publication to save a buck and just want it all done for you. If you order this book online where it says redeem coupon, type in 702online, and you'll save 30% until 7/30/08.

City Wide Card is a discount card that sells for $39.95. It offers savings it says of 20-50% off goods and services city wide. The problem with this is that currently they only have 46 discounts on the card. There was a total of 3 that a tourist staying around the Strip might use 2-4-1 on the Mob Tour and Haunted Tour, Fly Away Indoor Sky Diving was $10 off (you can get this coupon for free in the free magazines. All in all not a very good deal for tourist or local.
-
Entertainment: Retail on this book is $25 but you should be able to order it from their website for $20 or less. This book is really more for locals than tourists. It has some Strip discounts but not enough to take the time to wade through their poor orginzation to find them. If you have a car and are going to get off Strip than this book will lead you to many fine restaurants at 1/2 the price you would pay on the Strip. Note too that many times the coupons in this book are out of date. For example Willy's American Saloon has not served food for over a year and a half. That would make the 2-4-1 entree coupon useless. You can now pickup the 2008 edition for only $15 click here.

I Love Las Vegas: This magazine is free but has less content than What's On Magazine. They do have a nice feature on their web site where you can download all of the current coupons in their book. Here is a link to that. You'll find the usual shows, tours, attractions, and shopping sprinkled with a little bit of information.
-
Las Vegas Advisor: The LVA has a book called the Pocketbook of values. You must join the Las Vegas Advisor to get one and a 1 year membership costs $37. Here is a link to a list of the coupons you get. Like Casino Perks the list is well unimpressive but if your staying downtown or want a discount at a 2nd tier hotel than this just might be the ticket. Their discounts cover the gamut of gaming, shopping, dining, tours, shows. They do have a Palms coupon that is 50% off anything up to $50. That alone would pay for the membership if your headed that way.
-
Las Vegas Magazine: This is a free magazine and like I Love Las Vegas falls quite a bit short of What's On. It is published by Vegas.com and is not worth tracking down. If you happen to find it pick it up just to see if any of their coupons are a bit better than ones you found elsewhere. I should mention that this magazine has one of the best pull out maps available and if nothing else you should get a copy for that.
-
Vegas Values: This is a free magazine as well. It has many coupons that you find elsewhere but on their web site they offer a free mailing. You can click here to order a copy. It is published by the same people that publish 24/7 magazine. It is more about coupons than 24/7 is, and the fact that you can get a free one sent to your home before your trip is a plus. It allows you to plan ahead a bit.
-
VisiTicket: offers three cards, the Power Pass (attractions) $75-$165, Meal Ticket $55-$220, and Shoppers Ticket $15-$40. The price ranges because you buy it for how many ever days your going to use it. Check the lists for participating merchants closely as you'll find a number of the discounts available on my free coupon page. I noticed one of the 9 participating restaurants wasn't even on the Strip. This doesn't look like a good value to me but it all depends on what your going to do when you get here.
-
What's On: This magazine is free and the largest of all the ones available for free on the Strip. It has just a bit more than any other magazine and some editorial content as well. There is a feature available on their web site that allows you to enter your e-mail address and have all the current coupons e-mailed to you. Here is a link for that. This allows you to plan ahead a bit and saves you the time and trouble of wading through their magazine. I highly reccomend doing this before you come.
-
Where Quick Guide Las Vegas: This is also a free magazine but good luck finding it. It has limited distribution and that might have something to do with the fact that it is affiliated with the Las Vegas Monorail. If your planning on using the Las Vegas Monorail this magazine has a nice map of the monorail system and useful information about the casinos where it stops. If you're not using the monorail don't bother tracking down a copy.
